Because I’m waiting for my dinner to do.

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line of lyrics for the first 40 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I’m giving you two lines and excluding instrumentals, spoken word and mash-ups – cause that would be cruel and would involve things like ‘So, pornography’ or ‘If you’re in marketing kill yourself” courtesy of Bill Hicks.

  1. 23. “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window”, The Beatles
    28. “Jailbreak”, Thin Lizzy
    30. “D’Yer Mak’er”, Led Zeppelin
    31. “Think For Yourself”, The Beatles

However, that’s certainly not all of them I know. Finals (and the death of my iPod) have eaten my brain.

  2. Goodnight my love/Pleasant dreams and sleep tight my love: Is this from “Goodnight, My Someone” from The Music Man? It’s almost it, but not quite I think.

Sul mare luccica/L’astro d’argento: Santa Lucia, popular Italian folk song

You never wear a stitch of lace/Your powder’s never on your face: Argh, I know this. Is it “The Lady is a tramp” by Frank Sinatra?

    9. “Easy to Love” – I have John Barrowman, which I’m guessing yours isn’t. *g*
    12. “Dream A Little Dream” – and I’m going to guess yours is Dino’s (me, too!).
    27. “I Remember/Stranger Than You Dreamt It” from The Phantom of the Opera. I have the musical, and I’m betting yours is the film?

    27. Ok well it’s driving me crazy because I can’t figure out what song it would technically be but I know it’s just after Christine wakes up from passing out during “Music of the Night”. Yay Phantom of the Opera!

    37. Is it “Smile” by Nat King Cole?
